me: I want to add an extra link to the front page
Ruby on rails: hmmm well, I think yr gonna have to rake the db, no, not that one
me: what? it's simple html. i can just... add it..
ruby on rails: hmmm... no... i don't think you can do that

@vahnj we should change the Title attribute from "mastodon" to awoo.space so i can distinguish my awoo versus m.s tabs haha

Ruby on Rails class: the model is your database, views are your front-facing HTML, and controllers interface between the model and the view
Actual ruby on rails: ummmm.... are you sure?

Ruby on rails class: here is what these words mean and represent and what you do with them

oops, i forgot how much i hate ruby on rails. i'm trying to add a line of text to a page and GOSH is that complicated

frick how do you edit a commit on github you haven't pushed yet

I wanna make a joke like
"Good morning StatusNet!!" but i feel like the only ppl who would get it are ppl who would be offended by it

On the other hand, w/o all the super techie gnusocial posts on public timeline, it does look uh, less "work-related" if someone peeks

when you can't see all the m.s private lewd posts it makes things very Safe For Work.

awoo.space is SFW-mode mastodon

(somehow we haven't had an awoo cascade on awoo.space yet?)

I would be enjoying this snow day a little more if I had a working computer lol. Can only do so much on my phone...

Hey folks-

I'm looking to get some applications for moderators here over at awoo.space.

It's a short form, please let me know if you're interested!

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

Today I'm hiding from the blizzard by making pancakes and listening to the mountain goats for the first time

@Gargron for some reason, while I don't see replies on public timeline on Mastodon.social, on awoo.space I see replies on public timeline

OH @Gargron SUPER interesting: so on public timeline I'm seeing a post that I KNOW when I saw it on mastodon.social had a content warning, but on awoo.space I'm just seeing the entire post. I know content warnings don't federate to gnusocial for obvious reasons but it looks like they aren't federating out to other mastodon instances? even though it does have the code to perceive the warning tag in the html.

having accounts on different instances also seems like an easy way to manage having alts. i don't have to log out of this account and into my m.s account to switch accounts. i just go to a different url. very convenient

Awoo Space

Awoo.space is a Mastodon instance where members can rely on a team of moderators to help resolve conflict, and limits federation with other instances using a specific access list to minimize abuse.
