"Congratulations to drugs for winning the war on drugs." is going to be something i say obnoxiously too many times for the next five years, i can feel it

On mental stress & trauma

One running theme from the WFR training is that actively including the patient in the processes of assessment and treatment results in better care. Discussed in class today was that patient feelings of agency and participation are directly related to better long-term psychological outcomes.

It can include really simple things like asking them to temporarily hold part of a dressing in place, or working together to fold clothes for padding an improvised splint.

Teaching consistently makes me slow down and rethink what I view of as common sense. Mutually educative.

Reviewing the calendar I see that this coming Sunday is Stanislov Petrov Day. There are many famous military figures responsible for countless deaths. Petrov is a lesser known military figure responsible for preventing countless deaths by preventing the start of a nuclear war.

The words of @orrery regarding a character from Centaurworld:

"Ched's only real magic is in breaking the third wall."

Finished Werewolf Wednesday today. A werewolf in Crinos form takes on an office worker only to find they’re actually a fomor; and a Black Spiral Dancer in all five of her forms (at the time I penciled this that’s what was winning in Twitter plus Mastodon polls).

@Austin_Dern Not really, but it's also not a surprise, especially for small retailers.

After visiting several "clothes without gender" sites, I'm forced to conclude that I'm still too tall to be non-binary.

The 'smart home of the future' circa 2000: "Every home with have a small server rack in the garage and wireless tablets will let you control every aspect of what goes on in your house, as well as have a family message board, self-hosted email and chat, and intercom"

The smart home of 2021: "idk this weird-ass black plastic pringles can sometimes diverts from its main job of siphoning your conversations and video of your neighbors to the NSA to mishear you and order a case of tapioca from Amazon"

Does anyone within 200 miles of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho have a couch for my friend @Earthshine for a few days? Their motorcycle broke down during their road trip :blobsadreach:

Salesforce, Texas political consequences

Salesforce announces it will assist Texas employees with moving expenses for themselves and their family if they wish to exit Texas.

today are mostly thinking about different body types and bulking out fabric (and especially Wayne Reynolds' really dynamic triangular stuff), so they're not original at all! Death Knight inspired by Westphalia miniatures, ranger with dragonscale armor is memories of an NPC in Dragon, rogue with grappling hook is fairly original. Kitsune in forest inspired by recent Print My Minis release.

I'll be watching through Centaurworld again.

I want to share it with my spouse, and that'll give me a chance to watch more of the background animation and such.

Plus... I think I need to be in a more relaxed and open state to watch the last two episodes, because I tried to watch this morning and I think I was too distracted to really sink into it.

But I'm definitely watching through it again.

Two more from today; rogues tackle the secret sewer entrance, and two more weapons with wielders (half elf and I think I was influenced by a recent YT video about guardinals).

Nude, eye contact, promoting fat bodies, Spock from Star Trek

A reminder that Leonard Nimoy (Spock from Star Trek) made a book of photographs showing fat folks as hot and erotic to combat stigma: amazon.com/gp/aw/d/0979472725/

Wednesday’s , I’m not really doing “Swordtember,” but other folks are posting such awesome stuff their enthusiasm really catches. So here’s two pages of characters with various themed weapons (different groups too, human/dwarf/gnome men and elf/goliath/halfling women).
