GoToSocial, a lightweight Mastodon-compatible server
I may have to give GoToSocial a spin, just to see how portable and easy it actually is. Still early days, but it seems to be shaping up very well as an alternative to the giant jenga tower of Mastodon.
A couple points from feature list which caught my eye, too:
==
GoToSocial offers public/unlisted/friends-only/mutuals-only/and direct posts (slide in DMs! -- with consent).
It also allows you to customize how people interact with your posts:
+ Local-only posts.
+ Rebloggable/boostable toggle.
+ 'Likeable' toggle.
+ 'Replyable' toggle.
+ Customizability for admins
Lots of config options for admins to play around with, including:
Easily-adjustable post length.
Media upload size settings.
==
and
==
GoToSocial doesn't apply a one-size-fits-all approach to federation. Who your server federates with should be up to you.
+ 'Normal' federation; discover new servers.
+ Allowlist-only federation; choose which servers you talk to.
+ Zero federation; keep your server private.
==
And one feature Mastodon itself will never be able to boast:
"GoToSocial plays nice with lower-powered machines like Raspberry Pi, old laptops and tiny $5/month VPSes."

The latest 0.3 alpha release, Stimky Sloth, just came out, adding profiles:
Pushed a quick update to [a circle made of squares] - https://packbat.itch.io/a-circle-made-of-arrows - to handle the blinking issue: the current behavior can be selected as an option, but the new default behavior is that bricks are hidden if you cursor over a tile with bricks and hold the [x] button.
This hopefully will be less obnoxious (if more cumbersome) way to see what the arrows are under the bricks.

Questions for alloromantic/allosexual people to consider
Part of aro/ace erasure is that non- aro/ace people are often unaware of the ways in which society privileges and centers certain experiences of romance and sexual attraction and looks down on aro/ace people.
These questions are intended to help people think about those things and begin to understand how they affect us. I do not need replies answering them, they are for you to consider and answer for yourself, if you’d like

I am a market harbinger.
You know, it's hard to read the article at https://news.mit.edu/2015/harbinger-failure-consumers-unpopular-products-1223 whout imagining the writer trying to come up with more ways to insult people who are willing to try things that aren't just same-shit-different-label.
And yes, I am definitely one of these. The moment I start to love an unusual product or a favorite meal on a menu it disappears because of optimizations for market hedgehogs (my new term for folks who ball up and hide from anything novel, apparently the majority).
We made a jam game! Whoa!

Abstract puzzle game - you put down arrows and try to incorporate them all into loops. Art, music, and code by us, PICO-8 by zep.

This is exactly why I made decisions but never carry them out, myself.
