Images, fantasy creatures, eye contact, nudity
#drawings today, wizard duel (dwarf vs goblin with familiar and walking throne), imho looking at Wayne Reynolds art had a positive influence. And, finished up a furry pinup from earlier this month, added more of that kobold “cozy fantasy” character I’ve drawn before.

If you enjoy someone's post on #Mastodon go ahead and click the star. If someone tells you that's meaningless because there's no #algorithm, ignore them. Sure, boost the post too if you want others to also see the post, but don't think telling someone you like what they posted is somehow unimportant. In real life I don't tell someone, "good job," or "well said," or "I love that," for the sake of some algorithm, I do it because I'm human and they are too. It's fundamental to being truly social.
How fast do tree lights wear out, anyhow?
Yesterday, the three strands of tree lights all lit up.
This morning, two lit up in full and one lit up four bulbs.
Now, none of them will light.
The fuses test out fine. I tested 50 bulbs (a single circuit on the strand) even though the set claims to work even if one's burned out. I.... don't know what to make of this, other than possibly the internal wires broke under the incredible stress of being brought out for a second year of service?
I guess the tree waits until Friday...
(Hey, it's that time of the month again, I am sorry x.x)
I recently fled long-term domestic abuse and I am slowly getting help but working has been a long-term struggle (I have meds, work is a bit easier!). I have been working a bit better, and I sold some belongings I don't want to help things out, but I still need £200 by the 24th Nov meet a bunch of bills.

When they did an x-ray of Henry Gillard Glindoni's painting of Elizabethan occultist/alchemist John Dee, they discovered that Dee was standing in a circle of human skulls...

Further update: TOS seems to have appeared
NSFW is banned
Considering the content most artist posts I hope this will be the fatal blow
Hell nah that Hive thing is sus
Appears out of nowhere right as people leave for Mastodon, millions of downloads in days, app only, no accessibility, and no TOS
I've seen people say it's financed by the CCP/right wing millionaires (help me find a source for that claim, searching is hell because of the name)
Clear astroturfing
I'm not touching that app, it's untrustworthy and weird to me, I'd rather support fedi instead, it has far more potential
Hell, even Tumblr will join it in 2023
HEY HEY FRENZ on mastodon.social! You may want to MOVE to a new instance, very soon.
Why?
Mastodon is a bunch of islands that can talk to each other. The smaller and more spread out we are, the easier things are to moderate. Horizontal scaling FTW!
All of you who fled that one site 🐤 ended up at mastodon.social for likely a few reasons. It was obvious, it was big, and it's where you saw a bunch of folks going.
But it has a long history of being poorly moderated, which means a LOT of instances are silencing or blocking it. Which means you're on the big island that SEEMS like it's "where everyone is", but in fact, it's a giant island unto itself (momentarily trending toward turning into a post-bird-site echo chamber), and huge swaths of the Fediverse don't talk to it, or even see it.
If you want the quality of interaction (and moderation!) Mastodon is known for, move thy funky buns to a smaller instance of cool folks you enjoy.
Tonight we part as friends
and tomorrow when we rise
the communities we depend on
will have been shitposting all night
This strange and friendly space
gives me hope for the future
not just for banning racists
but also for being so mature
Thanks for choosing communities
over soapboxes and brand entities
where leftists can find unity
on the #fediverse with you & me
Hey I don't think I posted anything about it here so... I bought a comic book store?!?! More precisely I bought 1/3 of Outsider Comics in Seattle like a bunch of us are running it as a workers coop. In 10 days we are having a grand reopening party to celebrate this cozy queer little haven so if you're in Seattle please stop by! <3
My Desert Bus silent auction is up and will be up until 10AM pacific! https://desertbus.org/prize/74

LaTeX is versatile, but I can't imagine doing anything clever with it in a spontaneous fashion; it's complicated enough when one goes in with a plan. By contrast, InDesign has reliable easy-to-reach busybox factor going for it. I can drag around multi-column layouts and watch them rebalance in realtime. With LaTeX I gotta recompile and wade through 6d20 warning messages just to see if adding italics blew up the whole layout.
What I'm saying is that I love them both for different reasons.
