people don't tend to realize that there's a little computer inside of SD cards to do all kinds of fancy stuff

@noiob if comparing sd cards in general with specifically cheap ssds, i'm pretty sure decent sd cards will be more reliable. could be wrong though!
@noiob you can get a 512gb samsung microsd card for $80, a similarly sized samsung ssd is about twice that but you can get less reliable brands for less
because a PCIe card reader + fast large SD card might be better performance than a similarly-priced SSD
