good job us, got a ps2 hard drive adapter and a proper IDE hard drive to use with it... and we don't have any way to put stuff onto an IDE hard drive
guess we'll be getting a usb-to-ide bridge thing sometime soon but that's a bit annoying
hopefully the drive works; for obvious reasons it's only possible to get used IDE drives (it was very cheap though so it's not the end of the world if it doesn't work. The drive plus official sony ps2 network adapter cost about $20 total)
@noiob oh good point, might just do that then
I guess transferring stuff via a flash drive would also be an option but that's a bit unwieldy
@Felthry also, yanno, USB1
@noiob surely the PS2 uses USB 2.0?
@Felthry nope, you only get 1.1
@noiob yeah don't want to be transferring entire ps2 game isos over that
@Felthry or 'ftp', of course there's a shitty Windows program specifically for that purpose
@noiob i'm sure there's at least one good one too.
@Felthry it seems to be not Windows-exclusive so that's neat https://github.com/AKuHAK/hdl-dump/
@Felthry I can't find the HDLD_SVR.ELF anywhere but I can just go and get it from my PS2, gimme a minute
@noiob oh thank you! we can't really do anything with it right this moment as we're busy with other stuff but it'll be appreciated when we can use it
@Felthry you can ftp over LAN
