why are mario seconds less than a second anyway
-F
@noiob yeah but that's just because NTSC is actually 59.975 Hz or something close to that
a mario second is like 3/5 of a second or something though
-F
joke answer, surface-level physics.
@Felthry
Mario World has lower lorentz factor than our earth. from our reference frame, time passes much faster for Mario and co.
@Felthry i don't know but there's a similar thing in fighting games
someone went into a bunch and found out how fast their seconds are
Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age Of Heroes seconds are 2.58 seconds
@monorail ???? that has to be intentional, maybe to make it feel more dramatic or something?
-F
@Felthry the way the math lines up, it's probably so that they can have 255 second rounds but only have a 2 digit timer
@Felthry doesn't the NES run at slightly below 60fps or sth
