@noiob yeah but that's just because NTSC is actually 59.975 Hz or something close to that

a mario second is like 3/5 of a second or something though

Mario World has lower lorentz factor than our earth. from our reference frame, time passes much faster for Mario and co.

@Felthry i don't know but there's a similar thing in fighting games

someone went into a bunch and found out how fast their seconds are

Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age Of Heroes seconds are 2.58 seconds

@Felthry the way the math lines up, it's probably so that they can have 255 second rounds but only have a 2 digit timer
