@dodec Oh yeah the oracle games are really good, kinda perfected the 2D zelda formula arguably? though minish cap is definitely also really good... perfected in another direction, that one, I think. the later 2d zeldas (phantom hourglass, spirit tracks, a link between worlds) just seem to be missing something that those have

If you haven't tried Link Between Worlds, I recommend it. It works like a streamlined version of the formula, and I found I didn't really miss the stuff it left out.
@dodec We've played it! it's not bad but i think minish cap and the oracle games do 2d zelda better, honestly

@dodec having capcom do another zelda would be pretty excellent honestly

I'd like them to get on friendly terms with Platinum so we get another Ōkami, too.
@dodec We still need to get Ōkamiden sometime....

"Here, take this harp. It lets you control time. You know how to play a harp, don't you? ... Um ... well, look, just strum your fingers around on the strings and concentrate really hard, okay?"
I do still like the Oracles games, though. I have a soft spot for 2D Zeldas (and ones like Link Between Worlds which take heavily after them). Explore a 2D world, go into more-or-less-8 dungeons to get a Useful Thing and a Quest Coupon, find some mechanic that lets you explore the world a different way, and eventually make it to the final boss. It's a good structure to hang all kinds of creative gameplay on. Then again, I'm also a big fan of the classic Megaman games, and those are also structurally very similar to each other.
