Remember kids, the feds have a hard time infiltrating anarchist groups because we do our reading.
They've literally said as much in their own official reports to their superiors.
This is no reason to skip over using proper opsec when you need to, of course, but it does rather inform you of the opposition's mindset.

@LexYeen What do you mean by "because we do our reading"?
-F
@Felthry The "we" and "our" in that sentence refer to anarchists, as a general group, more often than not doing book-club readings of literature by thinkers like Marx and Kropotkin.
@LexYeen ah, I see
i wasn't sure what you meant by "reading" specifically
we've tried to read some of that stuff but generally found it too dense :<
-F
@Felthry Yeah, that's where the book-club aspect of it comes in. Interpretations are passed around and discussed, questions are asked and answered, and folks who have a hard time getting through the material are given as much of a hand as they need to keep up with the group.
This process has a lovely side effect of making it easier to pick out the cops.
@LexYeen also, in response to the second paragraph: the cops would either get picked out pretty easily, or they would (preferably) realize how they're part of a corrupt system and leave it
-F
@Felthry The former happens far more often than the latter, though I will admit that while the latter is a rare event? When it does happen, it's an *incredible* boon to the communities that ex-cop lives and works in.
