handwriting that is, not typing. it kinda turns into a weird little glyph

@Austin_Dern The E basically doesn't exist in our writing. we'll have to show you sometime

@Felthry I'm curious! I'll try and share an example of the Singapore The too, but later, after I've slept.
In shorthand, the usual goto is to remove the vowels, so it would just be "th"...
@JulieSqveakaroo @Felthry All I really know of shorthand is seeing Woodstock taking notes for Snoopy and that was all this pretty, abstract doodling as far as I could tell.
@Austin_Dern @Felthry If I remember right, that was stenographer shorthand, which is made with the weird typewriter looking thing that court clerks use.
@JulieSqveakaroo @Felthry Ah, nice. Always wondered about that but when I was a kid there was no way to look up shorthand except what was in the encyclopedia, which couldn't teach you how to *do* it.
@Felthry we keep writing "withe" when we mean "with the"

@Felthry In Singapore I picked up the habit of writing 'the' as just the letter e with a horizontal bar across the top. It's a common enough shorthand and I have no idea where it comes from, but it's a nice timesaver.
