mention of fascist symbols, california DMV bot

we've been looking at stuff @ca_dmv_bot posts and honestly surprised the california DMV recognised 14 and 88 as nazi symbols as far back as 2015. it seems like that didn't come into the spotlight until more recently than that.

some of their other rules appear to be kind of strange though. why do they not allow area codes on license plates?

we've also a bit surprised that the numbers 13 and 50 seem to be mentioned a lot too. apparently 13 is a gang reference and 50 is a police reference, which aren't allowed?

@Felthry in the US, maybe, I can assure you they've been recognized in Germany for much longer

re: mention of fascist symbols, california DMV bot

@noiob oh, i'm sure

but governments tend to be really slow on stuff like that, and this is a US state government

@Felthry I mean it's not a law(?), they can just put stuff on the list when they find out about it

@Felthry @ca_dmv_bot
50 probably as in five-O, which is slang for cops

13 might be MS-13?
