job guilt, capitalism grumbles

I called sick for today which ended up being my texting my boss and not really getting a reply back, which is making me feel near-constantly anxious on top of the normal guilt of "I can technically operate so I should be working" feelings.

My leg is still hurting me, though, but it's slowly getting better. I wanted to take the day off to kinda rest and recuperate and get my head strait on things I want to be doing/working on

But now I'm sitting here just going "what if this bites me in the ass. What if my boss didn't see and it sounds like a no-show and what if"

Ugh. Fuck.

@Oneironott If your boss doesn't see you can show them the timestamped text message that you sent. You made a reasonable attempt to let them know and you had no reason to believe they didn't know (though you would obviously prefer if they texted you back, you don't have any reason to think they're not the sort of person who would just leave it and not reply, do you?)

@Felthry I'm not too worried in all honestly. I know they got it, and they are usually one to reply. It was probably inconvenient but like… they are always pretty high-gear and busy, so the type of person they are they probably just moved on.

The other option is that they are a bit irritated at it, but either way I've been doing well and don't see any reason why that'd somehow be a deal breaker

@Oneironott Alright. Don't feel guilty about having to take a day off, either. Sometimes you just can't do things one day.
