good morning friends, and not-yet-friends

@Tathar That's unusual, as in most cases blue light is worse for migraines than red and orange

blue LEDs stopped being cool like 15 years ago, can we stop putting them on *literally everything*

assistance request, paypal link

ok so, when it rains, it pours. @Tryn#5277 &co are currently back at thier parents house trying to get some things packed up to bring over here to finalize their move in with us and... went to boot their computer which they'd left behind and it didn't boot.

They thought the power supply died, they rush shipped a new one out, and that didn't fix it so... as far as they can tell the motherboard died and will have to be replaced.

they *cannot* function without their computer and won't be able to pack their stuff without it. we've we might technically have the money to rush ship more parts out right now but it's not *spare* money, it's directly pulling out of stuff we need later this month...

paypal.me/nautileesys please, anything helps.

we're playing on the switch by the way, other releases might have this problem more under control

i think the most noticeable thing though is that... instead of having different models for things that are far away to save on resources they just... have different *framerates* for things that are far away

enemies that are more than a few feet away from the camera (it really is super close) will be animated more choppily, significantly so in many cases

@DarkOverord what that's super useful

way easier than taking out the sd card to get screenshots off it, when did they add that

how do people do this whole "having energy to do things" thing
-F

playing ys 8 has really got us to understand what people mean when they complain about games having unstable framerates

most games that we've played seem to manage it well if they're on console (we barely noticed the one in hyrule warriors that people said was super noticeable) and/or our computer is powerful enough to keep a steady framerate most of the time on pc

but this one... it's a good game but the framerate problems are very noticeable

re: oc development, genderfuck

@kobi_lacroix Fair! I just like exploring weird areas of gender space

re: oc development, genderfuck

@kobi_lacroix Does it affect their gender any, or just outward appearance?
-F

well that sure is a *fascinating* mechanic for this video game to introduce, let's see, twenty hours in???

re: plurality

@xenon *nods* good luck figuring yourselves out!

how do people do this whole "having energy to do things" thing
-F

re: plurality

@xenon not to say this is what you are, but a possibility you may not have considered is that you could be two of the same person, distinct but the same... if that makes sense?

there's an indeterminate and non-constant number of me, for instance

re: tech question (laptop touchpad)

@Corina@weirder.earth that sounds to me like a hardware issue--perhaps the touchpad's connector is loose inside the computer and it's not making contact at the moment, though it did when he got it
