it feels like with both baten kaitos games they were going for a 50/50 male/female party split, but in both cases they had an odd number of party members, so baten kaitos has mizuti who has a gender but hides it and has a weird phaser effect on their voice, and baten kaitos origins has guillo who doesn't appear to have a gender? and they did a really neat thing with two voice actors for guillo's voice: https://youtu.be/5aQHOFAeKiM?t=19

@owashii@plush.city we're always surprised to see anyone else who's even heard of it, but it's a pretty good game with pretty good music

there weren't a lot of gamecube games with multiple discs, the only ones we know of are baten kaitos, baten kaitos origins, tales of symphonia, and... *checks* yeah, that's it. thought skies of arcadia might have been two disc but it's not

it's really hard to find information and pictures of this thing because HP has since reused the part number for a printer, but i think it's a design from the mid-60s or maybe very early 70s--it's not tube-based, but it's from a time period where "fully transistorized" was a selling point

that's a ridiculous price on the ebay listing though, we got ours for like $300 plus like $50 shipping (it's a really heavy thing)
