food

just what are the spices used in regular old breakfast sausage, anyway?
-F

when you have a different piece of music stuck in each of your heads, and the tempos don't line up
-F

@patchwork having a giant sword on the office wall would be pretty neat too though
-F

@patchwork oh you meant like, a 1u rack server

i was thinking of the sword (is that a real type of sword? or just one from video games)
-F

@monsterblue @ikrupp eastern europe is overlooked a lot but they have some really neat mythology and tasty food
-F

@ikrupp we're a little more used to king cakes but we found paczki while living in a college town and they're delicious

i do kinda want a king cake though
-F

@Austin_Dern yeah, that's about what I thought, though i'm curious what any actual polish people would say if that's a good pronunciation or completely butchering it
-F

anyone who knows Polish: how exactly do you pronounce paczki

we just know them as those delicious things you get around mardi gras time that aren't king cakes, but no idea how to pronounce them
-F

I don't know *why* i find it so interesting but i find it fascinating that Indian English uses the word "doubt" to mean "question"--as in, "ask a doubt" instead of "ask a question"

I don't know why that particular grammar quirk has happened but it's a weirdly interesting one. maybe just interesting because we encounter it a lot; there's a lot of Indian people doing things in electrical engineering so you see online reference material written in Indian English a lot

re: Trails of Cold Steel 4, bad

@socks that's the one i was referring to, i think? might have things mixed up but there was someone other than elise who seemed to be more "sibling-y" relationship than romance-y and i think it was altina
-F

re: Trails of Cold Steel 4, bad

@socks iwrc that one goes in more of an "adoptive sibling" direction than romance (we looked it up out of curiosity but it's been a while) but, uh, yeah, still kinda weird
-F

mental image i just had for no apparent reason:

person picking up a small synth dragon, petting them and commenting on how cute they are
synth dragon: [indignant beeping]
person puts them down
synth dragon: "no keep doing that"
-F

@hi_cial i'm glad you're home 💚 sounded like you needed it
