social kinda -, would appreciate some input

a youtube comment we made seems to have gotten popular (just saying "speaking as an electrical engineer, this video is painful", on a video where a chemist makes a mess of wiring up UV LEDs and blows several of them and several power supplies--his attitude toward it is more "well that sucks, should have done more research", not like devastated or anything, so i don't think we misread the room or anything) and we have gotten several replies making fun of us for it and i don't know why?? i don't understand why people seem to be upset at us for it???

re: kink bingo

@gardevoir it's something i love to do with modularity stuff

like why bother making sure all your parts match, just wear the body parts you like

like this picture (by @/chr@scalie.business), where my anthro half is all biomimetic, feels like an organic being, while the bottom half basically has a neoprene wetsuit instead of skin

re: kink bingo

@gardevoir i suspect you mean a different thing by "texture contrast" than this, but I do love having a sharp transition from fur to scales or something on some part of the body...

re: all caps re: Kirby Forgotten Land silliness

@owashii@plush.city the car is glowy. glowy stuff gets stuck

re: zombie minicomic, linguistics

@packbat georgian allows things like gvprtskvni, which is 1) technically one syllable by georgian rules and 2) a nonsense word, it's grammatically well-formed but doesn't actually make sense
-F

@owashii@plush.city @packbat we have never played katamari

maybe should sometime
-F

@owashii@plush.city @packbat what's damacy? the only context we know that word from is katamari damacy and we don't know how that's pronounced
-F

@packbat (which is actually kind of weird because i think every other castlevania character is somehow related to one of two or three families)
-F

@packbat he's one of the playable characters in castlevania 3

there's no official pronunciation for the name because neither he nor any relatives of his ever appeared in any other game, let alone one with voice acting
-F

@tabitha@chitter.xyz open world is the hot new things these days

re: now we're just being silly

@rey @owashii@plush.city the UHF connector is just about the worst-designed coaxial connector we've ever seen
-F

random curiosity: how did/do you pronounce the name Grant Danasty (from castlevania 3)?

we've heard a lot of people pronounce it like "da nasty", /də'næstiː/, but we always pronounced it like "dynasty" but with an "a" instead of "y", with the emphasis on the first syllable, /'dænəstiː/
-F

@tabitha@chitter.xyz the kirby/katamari crossover
-F

@owashii@plush.city @rey (microwaves are sometimes included in the class of radio waves too. they are also commonly used for communication; wifi and cell phones use microwaves for communication)
-F

@owashii@plush.city @rey microwaves span the size range from about a centimeter to about a millimeter, radio waves are anything larger than a centimeter. radio waves in common use for communications can be hundreds of meters to a few kilometers iwrc
-F

@owashii@plush.city @rey they're very small compared to radio waves, is the reason for the name
-F

@owashii@plush.city @rey they're not gamma rays if they're large, the size is the defining characteristic
-F

@owashii@plush.city @rey no those are even smaller than microwaves
-F

re: food, really the least negative thing ever

@rey we've never managed to not boil over oatmeal in the microwave, what is it about oatmeal
-F

@monsterblue (also thank you for the appreciation! it feels good when friends like our stuff)
