today we learned: the past tense of "must" is "mote"

Kangaroos have good tails. I think I will have one of those too today.

Spaceships fly among the stars. Does that make them astral planes?

Who the hell is tom clancy anyway and why are there so many games named after him

took a bit to find because we don't know the proper terminology but it seems like it's the photon, like we'd thought.

looking up what exactly the gauge boson of the voltage gauge is and, uh, thanks duckduckgo, that's a useful suggestion

@Ficus Just want to say, I saw your recent uploads to Weasyl and I approve. :thumbsup_clw_v1:

Also, in a really weird coincidence, we just learned of the existence of the game Crystalis today, looked it up and thought it looked interesting and planned to emulate it sometime, and then what did that game store have but a copy of Crystalis in their front display case? Only $5, too.

They also had what we went there for, which is the Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD remix, so that was nice.

Well, that was interesting. The local used game store, which usually has a pretty poor selection of old games, today had a couple historic games in stock: Pac-Man for the 2600, _and_ a game for the Magnavox Odyssey² (it was just a bowling game, but we'd never seen an Odyssey² game before)

random thought, ps1 had green label, ps2 and ps3 had red label, what's the ps4 have?

actually kind of low-level worried that someone's going to talk about some spoiler for one of the old games that we haven't played like it's nothing, assuming people know it already

Show thread

Everyone's talking about it and probably spoilers are everywhere and we've only played the first game, and even then that was years ago and we didn't follow the story like at all

I feel like we should really try to play kingdom hearts sometime

I wonder if the used game store down the street has the PS3 version of the series collection

Even the professional badminton players are still bad minton players. Is there _anyone_ who's good at minton?

Ponderance for any of you math people out there: Is it possible for a slitherlink puzzle (on any grid shape) to have a clue in _every_ grid face, and yet still have two or more possible solutions?

out of context, but it doesn't make that much sense in context either

Come to think of it, if someone thrust forward a fistful of loudly buzzing french fries, I'd probably want to leave the situation too.

Still some of the best advice for programmers:

Don't be clever. Be obvious.

Felthry's VGM Selection

Hall of the Elders
Metroid Prime
Kenji Yamamoto and Kouichi Kyuma

This reverent piece is played in the main hall of an ancient Chozo temple on Tallon IV, a place Samus returns to several times to obtain gifts left for her by the Chozo.

Like much of the music of the Metroid series, it says a lot with very little; there's a single, slow melodic phrase at the beginning, a solemn theme used throughout the series to represent the Chozo.

But rather than continue in conventional musical methods, the composers move to slow, steady tones with ambient sounds in the background that do quite a good job of conveying the idea of ancient supertechnology; sounds that are obviously artificial but not like any machine that exists on earth.

It does a very good job of conveying respect for those who went before.

Apparently people are being kangaroos now? This is not a bad thing. They have good tails.

okay it's weird as fuck to see someone favorite a post of mine with an avatar that's just a photo of a human face (presumably theirs)
