took a bit to find because we don't know the proper terminology but it seems like it's the photon, like we'd thought.
@Ficus Just want to say, I saw your recent uploads to Weasyl and I approve. :thumbsup_clw_v1:
Also, in a really weird coincidence, we just learned of the existence of the game Crystalis today, looked it up and thought it looked interesting and planned to emulate it sometime, and then what did that game store have but a copy of Crystalis in their front display case? Only $5, too.
They also had what we went there for, which is the Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD remix, so that was nice.
actually kind of low-level worried that someone's going to talk about some spoiler for one of the old games that we haven't played like it's nothing, assuming people know it already
Everyone's talking about it and probably spoilers are everywhere and we've only played the first game, and even then that was years ago and we didn't follow the story like at all
Felthry's VGM Selection
Hall of the Elders
Metroid Prime
Kenji Yamamoto and Kouichi Kyuma
This reverent piece is played in the main hall of an ancient Chozo temple on Tallon IV, a place Samus returns to several times to obtain gifts left for her by the Chozo.
Like much of the music of the Metroid series, it says a lot with very little; there's a single, slow melodic phrase at the beginning, a solemn theme used throughout the series to represent the Chozo.
But rather than continue in conventional musical methods, the composers move to slow, steady tones with ambient sounds in the background that do quite a good job of conveying the idea of ancient supertechnology; sounds that are obviously artificial but not like any machine that exists on earth.
It does a very good job of conveying respect for those who went before.
