the high-pressure ammonia lumber trick is really neat

I guess basic furniture too. tables and chairs and stuff, there's variety in, but it's almost all artistic variety rather than "making a better table/chair"

thinking about how capitalism results in people trying to reinvent existing things to beak into a market that's long past any possible innovation and trying to think of things that have proven immune to that

can't think of anyone trying to do it to hammers, but that's about it. i briefly thought bookmarks before remembering those bookmarks that mark what line you were on and stuff or the ones with timers in them

apparently there are people who pronounce jalapeños "jelly penis" and just. why

@Oneironott @tastymochafox if this is a possible thing it seems like it would be relevant to your interests

we need a law that says it's illegal to prosecute someone for pirating things that are no longer sold

(also we should just make DRM illegal and have a general copyright reform, but whatever)

also what exactly ARMS/s stands for changes with different games

in the first one it was Advanced Relic Machine, in the second one it was "Agile Remote Mission Squad" or in the japanese version "Awkward Rush & Mission-Savers" (?!??), in the third it didn't stand for anything (I think?), in the fourth it was Ambient Reorganization Material

the entries in the series are:

Wild ARMs
Wild ARMS 2
Wild Arms 3
Wild ARMs 4
Wild Arms 5
Wild ARMs XF

hey @Galuade@snouts.online, thanks for inadvertently introducing us to backloggery with your posts about it a few days ago! this seems like a useful thing to keep track of "oh yeah we had that game we wanted to finish"

it does have verb conjugations with verb endings that you have to learn but that's not uncommon among indo-european languages, even english has remnants of such a system

today we learned: the Farsi language has no concept of grammatical gender and is in general a pretty simple and straightforward language; all noun conjugation is done by adpositions like in English and the core vocabulary is familiar to anyone who speaks another indo-european language

seems like a good language to me

Wanted:

A game like Factorio, but one that does not introduce the in-game ecosystem with toxins, destroy the landscape, contaminate and irritate the native fauna into mutating and attacking, kill off the native flora, strip the land of all native resources, and all of this in order to ultimately leave said planet that you were not originally a member of... and leave all of the automated relics of your endeavors behind to consume until they run dry, and then rust and rot...

I love the game in that it satisfies my tinkering, puzzle-solving, and creation itches.

I do not at all enjoy thinking about what it is that I'm doing to scratch those itches .

if aluminum is aluminium in british english, does that mean molybdenum is molybdenium?

was doing a good job of relaxing and getting our mind off it and then our dad called and asked about stuff and now super stressed again
