something we always found disappointing about twilight princess: with the whole "wolf link can talk to animals" thing you'd think that epona would become a major character, especially since you get to name her as well as link at the beginning. but she doesn't

there should be a unicode control character that just reflects the next emoji

or hell, one that just reflects the next character no matter what it is, if you can make that work, might mess up kerning though

If the pyramids at Giza have taught us one thing, it's that the way to make your mark on the world that lasts for millennia is to build a really big pile of rocks out in the middle of nowhere

I don't really know why I have these opinions, I just do

Rondella d'Elamfort is one of Śina's friends, a four-armed Levendish woman who collects swords in her spare time between missions for the Guild. She's moderately competent at fighting with them, but is extremely knowledgeable about the craft and history of swordsmithing. She knows the trademark styles of smiths going back centuries and can appraise a new weapon's construction and balance with just a few test swings. Rondella and Śina have gone on a few ventures together in search of rare or unusual weapons, and even if they turn out to be a bust, they both end up having a good time.

I kind of want to talk about some worldbuilding stuff we did in an rpg yesterday but I don't have the energy to type that out so someone remind me to tomorrow

so apparently the entire stackexchange network is currently blowing up over a *very* poorly implemented change to the code of conduct to mandate people use the correct "gender pronouns" (their term, not mine)

this is following a huge storm when a mod was fired without going through the normal procedures because she proposed allowing the use of gender-neutral language even when pronouns are given (e.g. even if someone's profile (which no one ever checks) states that their pronouns are she/her, you would be allowed to still use they/them because, again, no one ever checks profile pages, it's a question-and-answer site, not a social network)

I don't know how to feel about this

the majority of people are supportive of nonbinary people and neopronouns but the way the moderators are handling it suggests they have no idea what they're doing, the new rules are far too strict and far too rigid

reminder that the only thing that actually determines whether or not something is a casserole is whether you cooked it in a casserole dish

you can make almost anything that gets baked into a casserole this way

and if we could get the rest of society to work around the idea of flexibility with stuff like this there would be so much less stress

they cause far too much stress and things don't usually *have* to be done by some specified time, they just have to be done
