also apparently half the gym leaders are evil, so far blaine, lt. surge, and sabrina have been seen working with team rocket
i know blaine had a canonical past with team rocket in the other media but i don't think surge or sabrina did
so i've started reading the pokemon manga and well everything is very different than the games and anime, wow
