it's like hyperdrives in the star wars universe, no one knows how they work but they make ftl work

no one knows what gpus do, you just plug them in and they make graphics work

and i mean the ryzen 2200 isn't exactly a top of the range processor but the gba runs on an ARM7 so i think it's several orders of magnitude superior, plus there's the gpu there too doing whatever it does

doing setup stuff for this stream i'm probably doing later and apparently mGBA is a very bad emulator since it can barely manage 50 fps on a ryzen 2200 + GTX 1060-6

Thinking of doing Boktai: The Sun is In Your Hand as a test stream. Great game, no one seems to know it exists, and isn't a lengthy rpg like most of the games i'd want to play

there's something about the small numbers in paper mario that just *works*, really well

you start with 10 hp, most early-game enemies do 1 damage per attack, and mario does 1 damage per attack too. early enemies have like 3-5 hp. these numbers increase, but few if any enemies have more than 100 hp and doing more than 10 damage at once is a lot of damage even in the late game

i just like that more than the FF system where things are easily in the tens of thousands.

our desktop can run dolphin pretty well. maybe baten kaitos? what do people think of that?

if i do a stream (which will probably be friday or saturday), what game would people want to see me do? we don't have a capture card yet so it'd have to be a PC game or easily emulated game
