Never forget: most of us have been poisoned by a toxic educational system that teaches us systematically that failing at a task or not knowing a correct answer is shameful.
There is no inherent shame in failure, in not knowing, or in being wrong, and we shouldn't actively shame others for it.
Get back up, learn something new, and try again.

I'm watching what's happening, but.... We don't have the knowledge or the spoons to really analyze it enough to comment on it beyond that we think people are doing generally good stuff and we hope this leads to actual change and improvement.

there's a really nice and thoughtful person in a discord thingy we're in who we always find a little unsettling for reasons that are not their fault, because they use :) smileys a lot and our primary association for those is a really condescending tone of voice, which i'm quite sure isn't what said person is going for but it makes interacting with them awkward and i want that to not be awkward
