and as we understand it, their motorcycles are considered pretty good too, though we don't know a lot about motorcycles

Yamaha is such a strange company... because they make motorcycles, they make integrated circuits, they make pianos (including some really well-regarded grand pianos),

who had the best battle music?

it really is such a shame that Konami abruptly ceased to exist

they made such good games

talk of genitals, and the lack thereof

I think I've come to realize that my ideal genital configuration is simply nothing. I've never felt quite right with either a vagina or a dick, and when Felthry got to thinking about null taurs yesterday I latched onto the idea quite strongly.

So I suppose, from now until something changes, I'm going to be null.

"We're pirates of the seven seas!"
"Which ones?"
"Uh, Mediterranean, Caribbean, the Dead Sea, the South China Sea (but not the North), Hudson Bay, the Sea of Tranquility, and the Holy See."

but in cases like, say, astronomy, you might think of copernicus or galileo as founders, and both of them were wrong about a bunch of stuff but they were also right about a bunch of stuff

and newtonian mechanics (n.b.: newton's laws were probably stolen from hooke, but newton gets credit anyway because history) is still perfectly valid when not dealing with exceptional situations

I wonder if there's any field other than psychology that has a prominent historical figure seen as the field's founder, but also whose every word on the topic is generally regarded by those in the field as pretty much just plain wrong

The person at the store was very confident that they could help us find whatever we needed, even after Felthry said we're looking for something a bit unusual.

When it said that unusual thing was a USB-to-IDE adapter, they seemed surprised at the idea that someone might need something they don't stock.

I guess they probably usually just need to help someone find a laptop or something, though.
