all i can think of is making a 3d model of the cartridge in freecad from measurements but we're not good enough with cad to do that

now i'm thinking about replacing the batteries in our gameboy games with battery holders so we can swap them easily in the future and I don't have any idea where to find out how much room there is inside the cartridge--directly measuring doesn't seem possible since you have to take the cover off and the cover is what limits your vertical height

still find it amazing that the developers and artists did what they did on the PSX, considering the system had *no* floating point support at all

okay it actually was 16 bit, I mixed up the 68000 (which is "16/32 bit", basically 16 bit) and 6800 (8 bit)

you know, we know a fair bit about the famicom/NES's architecture, but it'd be interesting to learn about the genesis/megadrive and how it worked

it's clearly got some fancy stuff going on there, what with being an 8-bit console (no you can't just add two 8-bit processors and call it 16-bit, sega, stop it) but having such color in its graphics, among other things
