also, one of the six groups has no multi-cure item and one of them has two

this is developer-intended, not an oversight. no one is sure what they were thinking

every one of them has a dedicated item to cure it, and there are also multi-cure items that divide the status ailments into six categories based on what cures them. which ailment falls into which category makes no sense, but there are just enough patterns to make you think it makes sense until you realize it doesn't

some of the status effects can stack with others while other ones cancel each other out. the ones that cancel out have nothing to do with each other at all

jrpg with like three dozen status effects, where it's very unclear what any of them do, if anything, all portrayed only by an enigmatic symbol next to your character's name and called things like "torrentuous" and "neighboring", adjectives that definitely mean something but that make no sense whatsoever in context

what is it with jrpgs and people calling themselves old when they're barely middle-aged, if that? Rose is playing final fantasy XIII and one of the party members looks to be in his early to mid 40s at the latest and he keeps referring to himself as an "old man"

and that has me thinking about how Raven in Tales of Vesperia would call himself an "old man" all the time when he's probably 35 at the oldest

an undertaker was convinced that one of his competitors had some kind of conspiracy with the phone operators so that people trying to call him would be connected to his competitor instead (it's unclear whether this was actually the case), and his solution to the problem was to invent an automatic phone operator so that there wouldn't be anyone for his competitor to collude with

and this ended up revolutionizing the telephone network
