It's been over two years since the New Horizons Pluto flyby. It seems like it was a lot more recent.

in case it wasn't obvious, these are meant to reference the naming of hydrogen, the classification of 'fire' as a substance rather than a chemical reaction, and the whole thing with organic chemistry

if magic was a science, every aspect of it would be completely misnamed. Water magic would actually have more to do with colors or something, but it just so happens there's a lot of it naturally in rivers so it got called water magic. Fire magic wouldn't be truly magic at all but particular magically-triggered applications of well-understood chemistry. Life magic would actually show up in all kinds of non-living things.

in Wild ARMs 2, the item that lets you detect treasures was mistranslated as "booty call". I think this is particularly silly.

The professor I'm working with got two top-of-the-line computers for his lab.

Somehow, Lenovo managed to forget to install any sort of graphics card into them. There's nowhere to plug in the monitors, not even a VGA port

I wish restaurants would list the ingredients of their food. there's this chinese restaurant I really like going to because they're really accommodating of my food texture weirdness but I always have to ask what is on their dishes so I know what to ask to be excluded because they're all just listed with the name and price, nothing else, except for one or two that list /some/ of what comes with them
