slightly long, seeking suggestions
A cis person we know is wanting to show their support for trans people with an enamel pin of some sort, probably of a slogan or something. They're asking us for advice on getting something actually supportive (as opposed to something that gives the impression of someone showing off how much of an ally they are while ignoring the people they claim to be an ally to, as is all too common) and we don't really have any advice so I turn the question to the fediverse: What's a good pin for a cis person wanting to show that they're a safe person for trans people?
@coda I'm glad to see you're feeling better today. <3
In other words: music is hard and musical ability on one instrument doesn't translate over to another instrument very easily
especially when that one instrument uses the rare-as-hens-teeth alto clef
most of our musical experience has been with viola so while we can probably still fluently read alto clef sheet music and translate that to fingerings if we had a moment to remind ourselves of the reference points, we can't actually read treble or bass clef very fluently at all and also translating that to positions on a keyboard is very different from fingerings on a viola, and less intuitive I think
re: nsfw
I just like the idea of that sort of thing being just. everyday ordinary stuff, casual and normal
I hear the xbox one controller is a lot better dpad-wise and otherwise similar to the 360 one but: expensive
