The thing I love most about this corner of the internet is that people feel comfortable enough to be genuine, to do things without worrying about how others will react

Random bits of electrical hardware are too fun to fidget with, this is the second time I've realized I accidentally took something home from the lab

I mean both times they were things that cost only a few cents so it's not like I feel guilty about it or anything but still, this stuff is too good a fidget toy thing

music idea: a symphony where the instruments are an NES, an SNES, a Sega Genesis, and a Commodore 64

today we learned: The Super Smash Bros. Brawl main theme was composed by Nobuo Uematsu

rpgs usually have really boring generic sleep music and it really bugs me so when we first played Wild ARMs it was such a good thing youtube.com/watch?v=Q8pU7E0F7K

would the inverse of the Young's modulus be called the Old's modulus?

do they make camera 'lenses' that use zone plates instead of lenses, I wonder?

today we learned that there's a type of motor vehicle race, called a regularity rally, where instead of the goal being to be the first person to the finish line, the goal is to be the most on-time person to the finish line

that is, you have a predetermined time at which you should arrive at the finish line, and you get equally penalized for being too early as for being too late

one of the great tragedies of education is that so many people think that math is about numbers.

Why is it called formula one anyway, is there a formula two? how far up do they go, is there a formula twenty-six

fun activity: make sexists sound even more ridiculous than their views already do by reading every instance of the word "females" as if it rhymes with "tamales"

why are you all so cute, it's too much D:

do you ever just think about how weird the word plectrum is

tip: despite evidence to the contrary, jackhammers are not jacks and should not be used for car repairs.

They work wonders for car depairs though.

so, why isn't there a mastodon instance at foxes.party yet, anyway?

it just seems like a very mastodon domain name

slightly long, seeking suggestions

A cis person we know is wanting to show their support for trans people with an enamel pin of some sort, probably of a slogan or something. They're asking us for advice on getting something actually supportive (as opposed to something that gives the impression of someone showing off how much of an ally they are while ignoring the people they claim to be an ally to, as is all too common) and we don't really have any advice so I turn the question to the fediverse: What's a good pin for a cis person wanting to show that they're a safe person for trans people?
