thought: aliens who are fascinated by humans because of how quickly their culture happens, as new words get picked up and metaphors invented left and right

this originated with thinking about how ubiquitous the term "spoons" in the mh sense has become when it's probably younger than we are

"what is my gender," you ask? well, that's not a very well defined question. it presumes some concept of gender as a fixed, unchanging thing, which,

idea: "a phone number's worth" as a quantity of digits

I saw a number on a box that had a phone number's worth of zeroes in it and that made me think of that

bonus: it's not only country-specific, but also time-specific and culture-specific! clearly this is the best way to define a unit

i wonder if someone has made lulu's belt dress for real as a cosplay thing

probably

Show thread

I know lulu's belt dress was nomura's rebellion against people complaining about his overuse of belts but what is that thing wakka wears on his torso, what do you even call that? also the thing no his shoulder? what is up with tidus's pants and why the mismatched gloves?

final fantasy x has some pretty odd character designs

what the hell are most of these people wearing

*whirrs like an optical drive spinning up*

random silly slightly nsfw thought

a busty raccoon's bust: a racc rack

Worldbuilding thought, tf

A powerful mage wants to encourage equality, so enchants an entire city such that everyone in that city becomes physically identical (of course with a cute and/or sexy androgynous anthro shape). Not only physical, though, the transformation also alters the mind and personality (the original mind is still there, they just gain a new identity, more like their original mind/personality nudged slightly towards this ideal than a full replacement). Everyone returns to their original form as soon as they leave, though.

There are many repeat visitors.

it's a great series and people who haven't played it should play it

just watched a speedrun of suikoden and now I want to get back to suikoden 3

other possibilities: Revii from rev II or Revvi from rev VI or just Revv/Rev from rev V or just the term "rev" in general

rev

Show thread

or Revo from rev0 but there's a musician who goes by revo so that might be a little weird

Show thread

hmm, Revi would be a cute name for a synth character, who just took rev1 and kept it as a name

musings on cartomancy and divination in general

you know, even if I don't "believe in" tarot, it does seem like it could be a really effective way to make you think about things in an organized way. you get a card that means some relatively vague notion and you start trying to think about how that could fit in with your life or how it could answer the specific question you were looking for an answer to, and it makes you think down avenues you didn't consider before

in the mood for a hamburger, hm. maybe we should go get one

"The short answer is no. The long answer is nooooooo."
