that may in fact have been the point, too! I don't know a ton about Aztec culture but I wouldn't be too surprised to learn that they gave their foodstuffs a day off
So apparently there was a major Aztec holiday where for a week every eight years they would make tamales with no filling and no spices in order to not overwork the maize
this description (which is from wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamale#Aztecs) makes me think they had a holiday where they just gave the corn a week off

on a positive note: liking the game so far. We might purchase it next month to be able to properly play it

kind of proud of ourselves for getting all that done, it was a surprising amount of work and I'm glad it's done now
it helps to have a single 12-outlet power strip instead of two chained 7-outlet ones, and a couple switches (one HDMI, one component) to allow everything to be hooked up at once
We picked up a neat old CRT that the university was throwing out today
It's weird and not really the best for home use because it was part of a surveillance system, so it uses BNC connectors for its RF inputs, it doesn't have any composite or component inputs, and it's only got mono audio
But it does have two s-video inputs, which is nice, plus it's a color CRT and everyone likes those, low latency and stuff
We do not have room for it in our apartment though
