i wonder if there's a carillon somewhere in the world that plays the song of time on the hour

because that would be really good

weird, idle thoughts, implied affection directed at reader

consider: cute multiheaded headless people

then consider: you, but with two or three detached heads

the Hearth :ms_agender_flag: boosted

I can't believe I never posted Sera, my goodest doggo ;o;

sidebar questions from the gaming stackexchange often look really weird, since that stackexchange doesn't allow you to put the name of the game in the question title or something apparently.

it just occurred to me that the reason the x86 architecture is such a complete mess is that it's been used in one form or another from literally the first commercial microprocessor ever (the intel 4004) until today

Why are there people who think workers' unions are a bad thing, anyway?

why do some people seem to call dpads "joypads"? is that a british thing?

mh -

you ever have one awkward interaction with someone due to a mistake on your part and then never feel comfortable talking to them again even though they seem like a good person

people keep talking about the show unravelled and I keep thinking they mean that food network show unwrapped

if they wanted piracy to be unappealing to kids, they shouldn't have named it after one of the typical kid's go-to examples of a Cool Profession

honestly the turbografx is such a neat system it's kind of a shame it didn't take off

dont' think it had a lot of games that are particularly to our taste on it though, seems to be a lot of action and fighty games

looks like used ones still demand prices upwards of $350 on ebay too

it's called the TurboExpress incidentally if you want to look it up. it looks really neat

...huh, apparently there was a portable version of the PC-Engine / Turbografx, with a gameboy form factor but a backlit screen and full compatibility with all PC-Engine games

and it came out in 1990

apparently the reason it didn't do well was 1) NEC was really bad at advertising, 2) it was expensive as fuck, and 3) NEC wasn't really a well known game company on the scale of nintendo and sega

(only reason 2) applies to japanese sales though)

so wait what is this thing people are talking about, is quicktime suddenly relevant again or something

so what exactly does it mean for a piece of media to "jump the shark", and why is it called "jumping the shark"

ukpol apparently

well we just learned that the UK government apparently hired people to drive around trucks with signs on them threatening immigrants and telling them to leave the country

this is the kind of behavior i would expect out of the us government except maybe not even that because they seem to be trying (and failing) to be covert about what they're doing, the uk apparently has officially-sanctioned trucks saying basically "get out or we'll arrest you"

i have a really strong weakness for multi-headed cuties...

the fact that the game boy always advertised the fact that it had a "dot matrix" always seemed weird to us until we realized that prior to the game boy, the only handheld systems in existence either used shaped LCDs like the game and watch series, or used a dozen or so LEDs like that old football thing

i for one think that boktai was kojima's greatest work

quite possibly because it's the only game he directed that we've actually played though
