I haven't posted much about it yet because we are kinda trying not to think about it too much but also finding it not *super* stressful (for a mix of reasons largely to do with distance, honestly--most of our friends and acquaintances are in low-risk groups, and those who aren't seem to be doing the isolation thing well, meaning they're unlikely to get sick) but

I sincerely hope that everyone can make it through this okay. I don't want any more people to die from this than already have

and I sincerely hope that the things that are happening in response to this catalyze the people to action about important issues like healthcare and capitalism being Bad

before using it for super metroid, we hadn't really liked the super nintendo's non-square face button layout

but when playing super metroid, and seeing how easy this layout makes it to hold B and press X at the same time, I definitely have more respect for it now

for games that make heavy use of the dpad, and especially games originally on the snes, the 8bitdo SN30 pro+ might just be the best controller on the market

the added grips, replaceable battery, and analog shoulder buttons really improved it over the SN30 pro

but for games that use mostly the left analog stick, secondarily the right analog stick, and don't need much in the way of d-pad controls, the gamecube controller is still superior

TCP connections are initiated by the sending and receiving servers basically saying "hey i need you to open a connection" "i'm ready to open the connection" "okay open the connection"; these three messages are known as a "handshake". UDP doesn't do this, in UDP the sender just hurls packets at the receiver without bothering to check whether the receiver a) is capable of receiving at the rate it wants to send, b) is ready to receive, c) knows the sender exists, or d) exists itself.

i'd like to see some kind of full list of these, because I bet a lot of them are pretty great
