credit where it's due: this was partly inspired by @windyorigami and @VoxSomniator's worldbuilding stuff
sci-fi writing thing, a little long, worldbuilding, multi, multibody, modular
Yesterday, I had my brain removed.
That's not nearly as bad as it may sound to someone unfamiliar with life on Anse.
I'd moved here some months ago, escaping the oppressive society of my homeworld, and finally decided to take the plunge a week ago. Once the paperwork had all gone through, I had my brain removed, scanned, and uploaded onto a computer, which I would have running in my apartment from now on. The whole process took only about four hours, though it seemed instant from my perspective. They put a wireless interface device in my old body so I can still use it, but I'm getting rid of this thing as soon as possible--there are *much* better options available to me now!
And that's why I'm here now, at an artist friend's studio, having my ideal bodies designed. I don't have to limit myself to one anymore, either! I already decided I'm going to have a whole bunch of theriomorphic bodies... just being a swarm of long, six- or eight-legged otters sounds lovely. But a couple anthro bodies to choose between would be good as well--we're working on a wide selection of interchangeable parts right now. As we work, I'm coming to understand why the standard one-person apartment is so large here--mine is certainly going to feel less empty when there's two or three of me living there and a few dozen bodies worth of spare parts in the storeroom!
did sony ever make an official dualshock 2 to usb adapter, for using ps2 controllers with a ps3 or something?
