huh, just learned that Celceta is the Ys-world version of the Iberian peninsula. That's a less obvious name than Romn (Ys-world Italic peninsula), Greek (Ys-world Greece), and Garman (Ys-world General Vicinity Of Germany). I wonder what it comes from?

(if you're not familiar:

Team Symphonia made Tales of Symphonia, Tales of the Abyss, Tales of Vesperia, and collaborated with team destiny on Tales of Xillia, Tales of Xillia 2, and Tales of Zestiria

Brownie Brown made Magical Vacation, Sword of Mana, Magical Starsign, and Mother 3, among others

I assume you know what Sonic Team and The Pokemon Company made, it's kind of obvious)

some universities have classes about the film styles of even specific directors (especially ones like kubrick who have very well-regarded styles); there should be one of those but for games from specific series or made by specific teams

imagine a deep dive into the games made by team symphonia or brownie brown or hell, even sonic team or the pokemon company

speaking of, it'd be really neat to see more people talk about video games as a form of literature or film

you don't see people often doing in depth analyses of the story and presentation of video games like you do for books and movies

i feel like video game collecting is probably one of the most rewarding things we've gotten into over the years. so many great games we would never have experienced otherwise, many of which have substantial literary merit as well as just being fun

then again one of the tubes was a pentagrid converter and i don't think you can copy that using just one transistor

...but also one of them was the rectifier diode so maybe you could use two transistors for the converter and still have a total of five if you don't count the diode as a transistor (which pretty much no one would anyway)

i wonder how easy it'd be to adapt the all-american five (a five-tube radio design that was really popular in north america) to a five-transistor radio

it kinda feels a little strange that external combustion engines are so much more efficient than internal combustion engines, but I guess that's down to scale--external-combustion steam engines are much, much larger than the internal combustion engine in a car

rrf. mood's been really unstable today. Rosemary seems to be doing fine but I'm just feeling really down for some reason

kinda wishing we could afford to both get the things we want and help the people who need it and just

we can't even afford to do one of those, let alone both

so apparently some people are making a new engine for daggerfall with some modern design sensibilities and it's actually playable now through most of the main game

we should try this sometime

for no discernable reason our mood just tanked

we need to fix up our audio library... got some albums with wrong names and stuff, or with the album field filled in as "(Album) disc 1" and "(Album) disc 2" which our player reads as two separate albums, which is annoying when you get cases of four+ disc sets

and then sometimes some tracks in an album have the album field as "(Video Game) Soundtrack" and others as "(Video Game) OST" and others still as (Video Game) OSV" and it's a mess
-F

what happened to mp2, anyway? you get mpeg, which i assume is mp1, and you get mp3 and mp4, but where'd mp2 go? and why can't mp3 do video?
