Personal Trans, Family, Swearing??
Whining about my braces to Mom and sister (who, as always, suddenly show up at my bedroom door) and when they say my jaw's moved forward I, without thinking, say "That fucking sucks." They ask for clarification, I go "you know..." And they're like "Oh no, not like that!" but then Mom also says "You're driving me insane" BUT then we both somehow pretend again that this exchange didn't happen. For context, she's been deadnaming me again. This is unsustainable...
Personal Trans, Family, Swearing??
"You're driving me insane" is what really drives me up the wall. I've been so incredibly quiet and unduly conscientious about my gender that I literally slipped back into using my dead name at home. If this is too much for you, what isn't??? Earnest selfishness may be the road to take at this rate, I almost feel... ughh!!
Personal Trans, Family, Swearing??
@FragileVal you are completely justified in demanding your identity be recognized. That is not selfishness. They just want to live without dealing with your transness and will make you feel terrible if that's what it takes.
Personal Trans, Family, Swearing??
@FragileVal exactly. Nothing will be enough until you are cis. And you will never be cis. This is not your fault. They are abusing you for the sake of their own comfort. I am sorry. You can make it. You will be happy.
