Uhhgggg... I have to leave my desk with the space heater, put on trash clothes, drive to town, load literally half a ton of bags of coal into my stupid truck that I hate, then drive home and unload literally half a ton of bags of coal so I don't freeze.

Cabin in the woods has downsides... :/

...telling people to be emotionally measured about politics... like fuck straight off in to space.

Remember when the point of the internet wasn't to make literally everything as obnoxious as possible?

"you wouldn't download a" trivia (cw: sketchy business practices)

wired.co.uk/article/dutch-righ

Hollywood-funded anti-piracy association Brein, the people who made the "you wouldn't download a car" ad, tried to stiff Melchior Rietveldt, the musician who composed the music for it, out of the vast bulk of his royalties. They told him the ad would only be shown at a local film festival, then stuck the ad on a bunch of DVDs and acted like they had full right to.

So, like, if you're ever wondering if anti-piracy capitalists hate piracy? The answer is "no". They'll steal and lie seven days a week and twice on Sundays. They just hate seeing people enjoy media without paying them.

As a trans person, I support otherkin. <3

Especially pupperkin. They're so good.

you know what's really nice? sincerity. im tired of being in other places and having everything anyone says be couched behind a brand or a veil of ironic joking. i really appreciate that about mastodon's culture - the capacity for people here to just be sincere with each other. i hope the new folks can feel that as well

I want to re-read "The lamb will slaughter the lion" by Margaret Killjoy.

Great short novel.

2. Buy a $32 kit on eBay
3. Rip out Bird's board, replace with yours

To any kids out there who just failed some finals for whatever reason — maybe you’re working to pay bills or you joined too many extracurricular clubs — don’t give up. You are not your test scores. Don’t compare yourself to anyone else. You’ll do all right, just enjoy your winter break. Almost there.

"At a time of political reaction and restoration, when cultural innovation has stalled and
even gone backwards, when “power . . . operates predictively as much as retrospectively”
(Eshun 2003: 289), one function of hauntology is to keep insisting that there are futures
beyond postmodernity’s terminal time. When the present has given up on the future, we
must listen for the relics of the future in the unactivated potentials of the past. " -- Mark Fisher

Monsterboy in the cursed kingdom TF game releases today :)

Headphones are seriously like an emotional support item for me haha

warmth, pressure, sonic isolation

Went with a magni/modi schiit stack for dac and amp - seemed to be a better option than the grace massdrop dac?

Does anyone know anything about like DACs and headphone amps?
