Mostly, I'm looking back at the site to see if I can make it work for posting artwork again. Rant yesterday helped me realize I can probably make that work again, though the arrangement is going to be quite different than my 2015 and 2016 setup.

Giving artist Twitter a chance again today. I've apparently been off the site since last August, despite having a few folks' feeds up since then to keep up with the news.

Noticing that most of the toxicity that drove me off is now concentrated into an echo chamber of political accounts and their satellite networks of bots, and that it's spilling less into main feed than it was before. I might be able to work with this, though I still heavily distrust The Algorithm.

This is more or less the arrangement I used with reading Tumblr pre- and post- December 2018. I find a small contingent of artists I can follow, set that to be my main feed, then put harder topics in digests that I can read when I can handle them.

Living under a rapidly-consolidating authoritarian regime sucks, and I wish I knew how to contingency plan around it better.

The best I’ve come up with is setting aside some funds to help friends through losing their insurance and incomes, and to keep supporting my reps in their efforts to speed up inquiries into public corruption.

So he intends to cover up the whole thing, provide enough plausible deniability to help spin the narrative, push this all into the courts, and delay through 2020. Cool cool cool.

I am trying to see how getting him on the record now and subpoenaing Mueller in May isn’t playing an extremely dangerous game of chicken. I understand it’s the correct response to backstop a court challenge, but that kind of doesn’t matter if they dismantle the institutions in the meantime.

The human suit is three sizes too small and very itchy along the wings. Good thing I only have to put it on once every four months or so.

It is one of the best feelings in the world, after a long work trip, to finally drop the disguise. Pretending to be unassumingly normal is hard work.
