Recently starting using sway instead of i3. Really like it so far, it really is like i3. I dunno if this is intended but I like that it doesn't start on boot. So I can just have it running when I need it. o>

I might make it something more subtle later, like 0> or o> but for now this works. & 🐦

Ayy it worked!
I misunderstood how the emoji system worked tho, lemme try again:

Testing the crossposter thingy. &:bird:

I think I'll use &🐦 after the final sentence of a post to mark it for crossposting. Arbitrary but people will figure out what it means if I do it often. &🐦

I'm gonna figure out one of those mastodon to twitter crossposters. Not sure if I'll use it but I wanna know how that works. If it's a togglable thing then sure I'll use it.

Kozy little kreature enjoying some garden work after a long day.

Getting familiar with Krita's hotkeys with this one. No mouse, just keyboard and stylus.

Ok, new laptop setup:

  • Arch minimal install, but this can probably be done in Void when I figure that out.
  • Cage Wayland Kiosk, only really need one window open at a time.
  • Alacritty Sixel, has to compile but comfy.
  • Zellij multiplexer for when I need more that one terminal.

Tried doing arch without a DE / WM on my 2gb ram laptop:

  • Found out about terminal multiplexers, byobu being the nicest one I tried. Neat stuff.
  • I couldn't get sixel to work, and I don't understand terminal color.

I'll tinker more with this at some point.

I was able to change the scale on my drawing tablet from 19xx*something to 13xx*something like my laptop / tv monitor. Feels like a waste, but I'm not quite ready for the High DPI experience quite yet.

Twitter is getting long-form posts with rich text, shame Mastodon doesn't have that feature

Hmm, Konqueror seems like a nice browser. Feels like MS Internet Explorer but fast. Also like the progress bar on the bottom right that appears when the page is loading. I like knowing something running is some % complete and not just "in progress."

Oh my god, I installed KDE again (awesomewm didn't work out of the box for some reason) and I noticed it came with Software Center (which I thought was just an ubuntu thing.) All I needed to do was install packagekit-qt5 and it worked. I think I like buttons again.

I remembered my usual solution to indecisiveness is list the options then dice roll, but upon considering that I immediately thought "awesomewm starts with the letter a" so I'm following my instincts here.

So I guess KDE Plasma is a little more feature rich than I expected from a window manager. I like my minimalism, I'm might just switch back to i3, perhaps sway, unless some other wm catches my interest.

Warner Bros could make a Bugs Bunny themed linux distro called "ChungOS"

Ya know what? I'm a little too smooth brained for the void linux installer at the moment. I'll just use KDE neon for a while and then try to make something like it in arch.
