Seriously, I'm in 3 groups where the game is played; one of them I have NEVER gotten to play a game with because it seems like interest is more or less just completely gone (I tried to organize something a week in advance and there was ZERO response,) and the other two groups are wholly dependent on availability, with one of the groups being 2 hours behind me and they're usually only available when I'm supposed to be going to bed. It's been... insanely frustrating

It's kind of frustrating getting into certain games right around the time interest in said games waver in others, especially when getting enough people together to play is the biggest challenge. I just want to play Among Us or similar more often than maybe once a week or every other week :C

re: random cheese thoughts for some reason????

@Felthry Could potentially have to do with complementary flavor profiles? It is kind of strange though. Cheddar in and of itself could easily be marbled, given it comes in yellow and white varieties. May also have something to do with being recognized and marketed AS a marbled cheese, and having other cheeses marbled would just make things confusing. I'm no cheese wiz though (pun absolutely intended :P) so I have no idea myself

@g What? :C

But seriously, how is that body horror? I could KIND of understand hydra mid-split? But otherwise... what?

Woah, TIL that there are so-called fractal vises for clamping irregularly shaped items! (The picture doesn't explain it very well, you have to watch it in motion! It's in the first 30 seconds of the video:)

@jacel True. Guess it could be the equivalent of temporary tattoos, though depending on the shed pattern it could look odd after a while. One of those high maintenance things I suppose for the dedicated!

@jacel ... would some scaled dragons be into getting their scales etched instead of tattooed?

@jacel I might actually know some dragons who would totally be into that, too

(dragons with hide getting circuit-trace tattoos because they don't need to look any tougher but they want to look cooler)

@jacel Probably a lot easier when you don't need a fat CGI budget to do the special effects necessary to pull off a lot of that in live action stuff

Are Sony branded arcade cabinets Sony Paystations?

re: multifur, silly

@Vyzie That's what multiple headphones are for! Especially if you can isolate each program to its own headphone

@Felthry That is a good point. I kind of forgot that it can be a bit strong; doesn't help that I almost primarily only eat it as a topping on spaghetti (and I think the acidity of the tomato sauce helps dampen the strength) or as an alfredo sauce

@Felthry You'd probably want to go with bite-sized bits if you're going to go with brie or other soft cheeses for sure! But yeah, the harder cheeses wouldn't work nearly as well. Might taste good? But likely wouldn't be as enjoyable an experience.

re: Home Improvement!

Absolutely need the window unit because even though I have central air throughout the whole first floor this room appears to be some kind of weird heatsink. The closet isn't insulated properly so it tends to match the temperature and humidity level of the back entry, which explains where the humidity comes from most days. But the heat is a huge mystery. Rest of the house can be a cool 70 degrees, but my room will clock in at 75-83 degrees, even with the closet shut. I can't tell if the heat is coming from a poorly insulated exterior wall, the chimney that runs just outside my bedroom wall that connects to a gas water heater downstairs (which raises some carbon monoxide concerns if that is the case but it's not setting off any alarms so maybe it's fine?) or if it's coming from me, because I practically radiate heat. I very well could be literally heating the room above the ambient temperature of the rest of the house.

Home Improvement!

Room AC arrived today! A shame I can't actually put it to use until Saturday though. I don't have the kind of window these things were designed for (windows that slide UP; mine slide left!) so I have to build a makeshift frame to fit inside the sliding window frame. Going to be an interesting project! Plan is to build a new sash for my sliding window, exact same dimensions as the current sashes. Inside that sash will be a couple of boards to frame out where the A/C will be mounted in. And if I can afford it, I'll likely get some polycarbonate sheeting to fill in the gaps rather than OSB or foam paneling so it still looks somewhat like a window built with an A/C in mind. Might even get a replacement window lock so I can easily unlock and swap out the sashes in the spring/fall!

@Felthry I sadly can't seem to find anything unfortunately :C
