Trying to parse yesterday’s discourse about The New Terrible Thing Wil Wheaton Did On Mastodon mostly just made me want to sit down and have a go at my “hide boosts of people with more than (some number) followers” idea. Mute the people with giant megaphones. Leave room for smaller voices to fill the air.

If you're sexually active, make sure you're getting tested at least annually, and several weeks after any especially high risk encounter.
work rant
@salameleon the first one indicates someone getting as much disorganized work thrown at them as you are, and they’ve lost track of what they’ve already done. Happens to me too, which is why I have a pile of tiny notebooks where I track everything I’m working on separately, plus another notebook for a daily to-do list (50% is a better score than usual) plus notes about random crap that came up that doesn’t really have a home in a different notebook

Also had to research why dates were getting weird when read from a certain system. Turns out the database stores them in a Julian-Gregorian calendar and the program we use to read uses a proleptic Gregorian calendar. This means the date 0001-01-01 in the source is converted to 0000-12-30 and then we get a "date out of range" error since dates require a positive year value.
@frameacloud @Thaminga I am Corgo. I mind the place while The Master is away. I am a good boy.
(this only makes “sense” if you have seen or at least heard of a specific particularly bad movie)

I feel a pressing need to draw certain facts to your attention. These matters have been neglected for far too long, and while some amount of negligence is understandable, I can only tolerate so much. Therefore, I am forced to bring to your attention the following:

ambivalent thoughts on gender identity and gender politics
@packbat It’s honestly pretty hard for me to comprehend evidence beyond “coincidence of birth assignment” because “gender” feels like a collection of totally unrelated traits that our society is inexplicably convinced are not only intensely correlated, they are intensely correlated with genitals.
ambivalent thoughts on gender identity and gender politics
I don’t know how much of my gender identity is “just” a rejection of the horrible, violent, antisocial demands of masculinity, which I was always too emotional and physically weak to meet. I believed adults who taught children that hostility and violence is unacceptable, so I was rejected by my peers.
I continue to question my gender because I don’t trust that it’s “real”, not just resentment for my gender role.
