I’m sorry I’m apologizing for everything nonstop again aaaaaaaaaa

It’s kind of weird to look back through my own memories and realize that the majority of the event memories my brain has recorded involve @Jacel. Hir visits always seem recent. I don’t record many event memories generally and it seems the ones I do are heavily biased towards hir. Sie helps me participate in the world.

I wish I handled cold weather a little better. Brr.

“What’s that big ‘t’ up there for?” —me, age 3, the first time my mother took me to a church past infancy, much to her embarrassment

It is 2017 and I am sitting here using a toothbrush to scrape soap debris out of my waterproof phone’s microphone grate

I went to a grocery store without headphones blasting a protective layer of Cradle of Filth, so I heard lousy Christmas music. My only remaining defense is to rewrite it on the fly.

You will get that transcendental feeling
When you hear
Voices singing “Let’s be owls,
Deck the halls with paper towels”

I can’t stop refreshing the status page for the flight @Jacel is on aaaaaaa

I guess the real problem I’m having is that a sound system from 2004 is not holding up to the audio coding standards of 2017

Honestly most of why I'm thinking about soundbars is that I am annoyed by all the crap I'm having to do to trick my game consoles into outputting 5.1 bitstream sound to a TV reporting 2.1 support and I want something that acts like a modern HDMI 2.2 receiver. But I don't know of anything designed to be a cheap re-encoder to DTS (5.1)-over-optical from an HDMI 2.2 input (which would need to pass the video signal through)

Really what I think I’m going to do is be happy with what I’ve got and sit on my hoard until I am absurdly wealthy and can just buy a place with a dedicated “home theatre” room and hire someone to lay out the sound properly in there.

I keep finding myself considering abandoning my high quality, entirely reliable Z-5500 sound system in favor of a soundbar just so we stop tripping over the back right channel speaker behind the couch and bumping it out of position. Probably not the right choice so I shouldn’t do this.

my favourite game is "Mornington Nomic" - I have the only extant copy of the rules, but the basics:

1. Everyone takes turns in order

2. A turn has 2 parts:
* the player proposes a rule addition/change
then, everyone votes on whether the rule change should be adopted - if the vote goes through, it's now in the rules!
* secondly, the player makes a move on a map of the london underground.

3. A player wins if they move to mornington crescent
4. No player can move to mornington crescent
