I have played a few hands of Three-Handed No against myself now using a 12-card deck, and I have concluded that:
* 12 cards is not enough for a 3-player trick-taking game although it's an interesting way to talk about auction strategy
* there's something here. There's a playable game in this and it may even be good.
I now have a very skeletal, primitive draft of this hybrid trick-taking/wagering game. I wanted a true wagering game, not a game where increased commitment to the pot just sort of happens as the game is played, but a game with more "play" and meat to it than pure poker. I am very much in favor of free speech, even that which I vehemently disagree with, because it drags idiocy out into the open. I am all in favor for protesting offensively bad and dehumanizing ideas. I am completely against violent means of spreading a message, regardless of how much I agree with the message, and I am completely against trying to "de-platform" someone scheduled to speak at a publicly-funded Federal facility because I am of the opinion that the First Amendment matters.
"conspiracy theories"
the fact that even suggesting the possibility of state involvement means that you have to be careful not to look like a "conspiracy theorist" suggests that there is a particular role the term plays in discourse
cointelpro is something the fbi *admitted* to and liberals still dismiss it as a conspiracy theory
Confession: I am very pro-launching-cars-unnecessarily-into-space. We need freight launching tech to colonize another planet, we should never use technology for the first time on something we can’t afford to lose, but if it has no sentimental value, will the researchers be adequately emotionally invested into “just another test”? Eventually there is the “landmark test”: the first test that is truly 100% intended to succeed
anxious introvert frustrations
where have all, the forums gone
long time passing~
no seriously what the fuck happened do introverts no longer exist anymore?
do people no longer lurk before posting?
do communities REALLY need to know every single time someone new arrives so as to shower them with greetings?
(yes I realize the hypocrisy of saying this while having a discord server of my own - there's all of nine people there, though, so my point is "hush, aunt lexi's ranting again")
