@zebratron2084 what I’d wonder is; a straightforward movie thing suggests a market. I’d wonder if there were silent movies intended to make money off an African-American middle class which would’ve been more of a thing prior to all the pushback in the 1920s. It’s hard to know anything definite about silent movies since the film was flammable and regularly burned as disposal - and I can imagine people editing studio history that way.
