subtoot;

as a young and very clueless kid (living in a time and place where most cars were assumed to be made in the USA) I thought the Michelin Man/Michelin Tires/Michelin Guides were the MICHIGAN Man/Michigan Tires/Michigan Guides.

'cause if cars come from Detroit, in Michigan, presumably so do tires and travel guides right?

@kelseyhusky wanna know the assumptions about Star Wars?

@kelseyhusky okay as a kid I figured 1) the Imperial Navy guys and stormtroopers were the same service branch, and wore the armor only during combat duty; I think because when I went on base with my Dad I’d see the MPs in flak vests and whatever but everyone else was in undress order.

2) “Sith” was Vader’s fief, a little like saying “Avignon” or “Burgundy,” since the setting had medieval elements. I figured there were lots of Dark Lords out there, each ruling a different planet or something.

@Leucrotta again, reasonable conclusions to draw, based upon your descriptions of your experiences. I really hope you didn't get teased about them.

@kelseyhusky nope. Nobody asked. None of the other kids seemed interested in Star Wars until we got transferred.
