So I ran into this article suggesting the Cybertruck’s distinctive profile was basically to run a support through a unibody construction to take any torque while towing the vehicle (compared to normal pickups where having the bed separate from the cab and frame eases torque).
I’m sure the vaguely Delorean and Stealth bomber cues also sold it to the design team. I’d wonder if the slab sided design is intended for easy modular replacement as well.
Also, I *loathe* Tesla and hope this tanks.

I hope it spurs other automakers to actually start building electric trucks and more EVs, tho.
