Sure this sounds good as an exercise in trying to find worth in my identity. Let’s try it; let’s shake it up by letting people pick which number’s answered if you choose.
26) yes and no. I’m horribly envious, but not jealous, or something? It doesn’t bother me if everyone else is well off and loved and has a bright future or whatever, in fact the better off everyone else is the better off I’ll probably be, as long as I get to be safe and comfortable and wanted. But if you tell me I can’t get safety, love, comfort or adventure I’m bitterly envious of others getting those things.
1) nicknames have varied. For a while in college I was trying for a favorite animal’s generic name, and I still really like being referred to as any animal I associate with. My favorite nickname ever tho is when very little I couldn’t easily pronounce my name, and my Gramma and Grampa used my version until they died. I DJ if I’d be cool with anyone else using it.
@Leucrotta I'm curious about 39 in your ideals not limited to this time/place
@Oneironott 39 actually has an easy answer in the here and now; I want to see the Zorn museum in Mora, and take the night ferry to Helsinki.
Beyond that tho; I’d be curious to see what Mycenaean(ish) Crete was like. I’d wonder what Maastrichian Larimidia was like too, can you imagine all the biodiversity? Like there’d be birds, avialan dinosaurs, very reptilian looking dinosaurs, and all sorts of stuff that never fossilized.
@Leucrotta was this a collab with tom waits?
@Leucrotta I don't know if I didn't know that or forgot it, but the mispronunciation thing is kinda wonderful! That's actually how my character Millimax comes by her name; when very young, she had trouble learning and pronouncing the clan name (/mækʃɪnɪɬjɑnᵊ/, acceptably "Anglicized" as Maximillian). She later picked it up as her art-name, and now she goes pretty much exclusively by that.
So now I ask: 23? And does it carry any particular associations, anecdotes, or the like?
@Leucrotta Oh, and in case you're curious but not conversant in IPA – not judgin', I'm not either – you can plug that into http://ipa-reader.xyz/ and set the voice to the very last one (Gwyneth) to hear it. I love that site.
@ElectricKeet 23) my favorite color is green. Darker, more desaturated. Forests, the Bay Area’s hills in late winter/early spring.
@Leucrotta How about 34?
@porsupah 34) i actually answered on Twitter, but one thing I really like about myself is I like learning for itself. If I’m figuring out the world that makes me really happy. That gets me past “you’ll never actually use this” and “you suck at this,” and “sure I suck at drawing [whatever] but I’m figuring it out and for me that’s not a haul, that’s a wonderful adventure” is just really powerful.
I think that’s why I hate some training or classes. It’s deadly necessity, not fun.
I’ll also shake things up by going out of order.
So;
30) favorite song right now - this is subject to change of course - is Jethro Tull’s “Reasons for Waiting.”
