Hey @Leucrotta, we got some polenta at the fancy grocery store! :3

I don't know much about it or how to cook it. I'm thinking maybe slice and bake/toast in the toaster oven?

(I uh, have no idea how to hide images without adding a CW so sorry for the rando polenta picture in your face. I hope Gargron didn't remove the feature as part of the other shitty UI changes lately. >,,< We mostly stick to our own server these days...)

@frost It's your basic starch - corn meal in the form of basically sort of a cake rather than as porridge. Cut it into slices, pan-fry those, and dump sauce on them same as with pasta.

@Leucrotta Neat! Uhhhh we can't really pan-fry things. We have a teenyass skillet, but no burner, except for I guess that hotplate that we never use...

(we really should have bought induction instead of basic electric!)

@frost Okay I'm *mostly* stumped. I worry it might lose consistency in the microwave. Oven maybe?

@Leucrotta Yeah oven's probably best!

(also /whoops/ I missed this, heckie!)

@Leucrotta Hah, this has the consistency of cheese, but the little falloff bits I tried do NOT taste like cheese!

@Leucrotta Baked it for 20 minutes and it is... meh.

maybe I should bake it some more. possibly on the toast setting.

@Leucrotta ...okay, that didn't really help. I'm just gonna toss the rest of what we cooked.

Follow

@frost Yeah. I'm at a total loss for how best to cook things through and especially crisp the outside without a stovetop available.
