work complaints
This is a small company and the CEO is “very hands on,” or rather 1) he dominates meetings and phone conferences, 2) he will IM you if your IM is on as required and 3) he will call you into his office or walk up and start talking at you at any time.
This would bug me less if he weren’t demanding, accusatory and gaslighting.
Our open office plan ostensibly saves more room but it means whenever he wanders past to harangue the warehouse, sales, or our CSR, it puts me on edge.

@Leucrotta uugggggghhhh. that sounds incredibly upsetting and gross. :|
work complaints
@Leucrotta *sends gentle thoughts* it's okay to post about that stuff here too, I promise. much empathy for your icky work situation. :/
work complaints
@green I just feel like I’m always on about this terrible thing in my life, and it stacks badly with social awkwardness.
work complaints
@Leucrotta *nod* totally understandable, but it's okay. I know social anxiety isn't that easy to convince, but I don't mind giving some reassurance if it helps. :]
work complaints
@Leucrotta Open offices are the very worst idea since strapping lightbulbs to machinists' hands and filming them work in the dark.
work complaints
@Momentrabbit it’s a terrible fit for working around sales; my gauge for how bad it eats focus is, I never napped in my car when we had legit cubicles prior to June.
work complaints
Before June when we had actual cubicles this was a little easier to take. (Also; if you’re in the break room with him, he’ll talk at you. Even when it’s not about work it’s not comfy. So I haven’t had lunch in the break room since March. Between not having a good table and napping in my car during lunch breaks I haven’t drawn during lunch since July.)
