I'm now thinking, that if I get to a place in life where I can really be there for a cat, maybe I'll try to adopt a disabled cat; someone who wouldn't get picked out of the shelter easily. The big qualifications I want out of a cat are "is okay with me nearby or petting them" and "purrs" and those are pretty easy to do.
