Aha, a bill from New Orleans for water that’s warm and green, so you can probably guess the song cue here.

today I was thinking about how everything I was interested in as a kid (and now) was about curiosity rather than completing tasks (and of course having to do tasks perfectly is the opposite of being curious); make stuff, figure things out. I was so obviously a poster child for ADHD.

surely someone has filked "Smoke on the Water" to be about GaryCon, on the Lake Geneva shoreline

this reminds me of my ambition to vandalize an "In-and-Out Burger" sign with "Funky Claude was running"

the primal warning of Norse mythology, "Mind the Ginnungagap"

then I said

"And it may be that brighter days lie ahead; for none but the Nornir know how the skein of a man's life may unwind

"... damnit listening to "Heilung" is influencing me."

@amaranth@weirder.earth Have you ever played Werewolf the Apocalypse?

technically for since it’s WtA fanart even though nobody’s in Crinos.

Getting into the holiday by listening to the Batman Returns soundtrack- with a brief pause for The Clown Dream from Pee Wee’s Big Adventure. Hee hee hee, CHRISTMASTIME!

oh man let's *not* listen to the soundtrack from that part of the movie, that's just fucking heartbreaking to think about

@amaranth@weirder.earth here’s the (one!) page from Ron Tiner’s “Figure Drawing Without a Model” which diagrams fat distribution by binary gender. CW, has nudity including tween bodies. Maybe it’s useful as reference?

suddenly feeling really melancholy about how when you get old all your dreams become drawing as a hobby after work, and what you lived through as a kid recedes into this stylized folk memory. Life moves on, and as in the past, it's about other better people.

being reminded that The Dark Crystal, one of my favorite movies ever, exists, meant finding the overture and being recommended the theme from Krull which leads me to repost this classic.

As a chance encounter fleeing from their screaming fans, the lads met Gort, the fifth Beatle, in "A Hard Day's Night the Earth Stood Still."

coyote sing along hour

There has been a spacecraft sighted
flying high above the sky
sirens declare there's one among us
FROM VENUS!
Volunteers! we need volunteers!
soldiers to meet them
have no fear! have no fear!
You will be KILLED right awaaaay

YES! I would date the girl from Venus
flowers die and so shall I
I would kiss the girl from Venus
FOR SCIENCE!

The Dog's Bollocks with their overwhelming hit and only album, 1978's "What the 'Ell You Lookin' at M8?"

Should I draw part of my only current TTRPG character’s backstory? (Inspired by a DCD track)

@amaranth@weirder.earth Mike Ploog doesn't really get a single site, but image searching will give you some idea google.com/search?client=firef

he's someone who's been working forever, so you've almost certainly seen films and music videos he worked on, less likely comics.

Claire Wendling is much younger and therefore a little more online (clairewendlingblog.tumblr.com/, instagram.com/claire.wendling/) but your best bet is still looking for books on either.
